ESMA publishes updated AIFMD Q&A
June 3, 2016--The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) has published an updated questions and answers document (Q&A) on the application of the Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive (AIFMD).
The Q&A includes a new question and answer on requirements regarding the domicile of EU Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs) which are marketed in the home Member State of the AIF Manager, as well as a new question and answer relating to the marketing of EU feeder AIFs which have a non-EU master AIF. The Q&A also contains two new questions and answers regarding the influence that committed capital can have on the calculation of the total value of assets under management and additional own funds.

Schaeffler AG to be included in MDAX
Deutsche Börse reviews index composition/Changes to be effective as of 20 June 2016
June 3, 2016--On Friday, Deutsche Börse announced changes to its selection indices, which will become effective on 20 June 2016.
The shares of Schaeffler AG will be included in the MDAX index and will replace the shares of Wincor Nixdorf AG, which will move to SDAX. The exclusion of Wincor Nixdorf is based on the fast exit rule; the shares no longer fulfill the market capitalization requirements to remain in the MDAX index.

ESMA reminds firms of responsibilities when selling bail-in securities
June 2, 2016--The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) has today published a Statement reminding banks and investment firms ('firms') of their responsibility to act in their clients' best interests when selling bail-in-able financial instruments.
New Banking Recovery and Resolution Directive (BRRD) rules in force since January 2016 mean firms are likely to issue a significant amount of potentially loss-bearing instruments to fulfil their obligations and ESMA is concerned investors-in particular retail investors-are unaware of the risks they may face when buying these instruments.

Turnover at Deutsche Boerse's cash markets at 103.8 billion euros in May
June 1, 2016--Order book turnover on Xetra, Börse Frankfurt and Tradegate Exchange across all asset classes stood at €103.8 billion in May (May 2015: €125.6 billion).
Of the €
103.8 billion, €
96.1 billion were attributable to Xetra (May 2015: €
117.1 billion). The average daily turnover on Xetra stood at €4.6 billion in May (May 2015: €6.2 billion). A turnover of €2.9 billion was attributable to Börse Frankfurt (May 2015: €3.7 billion).

Invesco Powershares launches two high dividend low volatility ETFs
June 1, 2016--Invesco PowerShares has listed the PowerShares FTSE UK High Dividend Low Volatility UCITS ETF and the PowerShares FTSE Emerging Markets High Dividend Low Volatility UCITS ETF on London Stock Exchange.
Bryon Lake, head of Invesco PowerShares -EMEA, says: "These new ETFs complement our existing High Dividend Low Volatility range and, collectively, provide a suite of products seeking to help in the search for yield in the UK and emerging markets, while operating in an uncertain equity environment."

Deutsche Börse to act as licensor of TAIFEX market data to international clients
May 31, 2016-- Taiwan Futures Exchange (TAIFEX) and Deutsche Börse Market Data + Services signed a market data partnership agreement, under which Deutsche Börse will act as the licensor of TAIFEX market data and information products to all international clients.
Therefore, clients will be able to benefit from the state-of-the-art licensing services offered by Deutsche Börse, which already functions as a licensing partner for a whole range of trading venues around the globe such as BSE India, Irish Stock Exchange and Bulgarian Stock Exchange.

Lyxor launches ETFs tracking inflation expectations
May 31, 2016--Lyxor has launched the Lyxor USD 10Y Inflation Breakeven Ucits and the Lyxor EUR 2-10Y Inflation Breakeven Ucits ETFs.
These ETFs seek to provide exposure only to changing inflation expectations through the spread between traditional bond yields and those of inflation linked bonds, without the risk of changes in interest rates.
