Lyxor ETF Research : ANOTHER WEEK OF CENTRAL BANK DECISIONS

March 15, 2016--1-ECB Kitchen-sink list of reforms: The ECB monetary package delivered on Thursday 10 March came much above expectations as accommodation was accelerated on 4 points: (1) QE monthly purchases stepped up from 60 to 80Bn€ (2) with the scope of assets extended to non-bank corporate debt, (3) all three policy rates cut (-10bps on the deposit rate to -40bps, -5bps on the Main Refinancing Operations rate to 0bps and -5bps on the Marginal lending facility rate to 25bps),(4) a new series of TLTRO starting in June 2016 (under which banks will be remunerated positively to borrow).

Lyxor Cross Asset Research believe that the ECB's heavy artillery has potential to spur reflation dynamics, but no safety net.
