Fee Rate Advisory #1 for Fiscal Year 2017
August 31, 2016--The Securities and Exchange Commission today announced that in fiscal year 2017 the fees that public companies and other issuers pay to register their securities with the Commission will be set at $115.90 per million dollars.
The securities laws require the Commission to make annual adjustments to the rates for fees paid under Section 6(b) of the Securities Act of 1933 and Sections 13(e) and 14(g) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934.

Dilma Rousseff Is Ousted as Brazil's President in Impeachment Vote
August 31, 2016--The Senate on Wednesday impeached Dilma Rousseff, Brazil's first female president, and removed her from office for the rest of her term, the capstone of a power struggle that has consumed the nation for months and toppled one of the hemisphere's most powerful political parties.
The Senate voted 61 to 20 to convict Ms. Rousseff on charges of manipulating the federal budget in an effort to conceal the nation's mounting economic problems.

Dorsey, Wright & Associates, a Nasdaq Company, Named Sub-Advisor of AdvisorShares Actively Managed International ADR ETF (AADR)
August 30, 2016--AdvisorShares, a leading sponsor of actively managed exchange-traded funds (ETFs), announced today that Dorsey, Wright & Associates (DWA), a Nasdaq Company, will assume sub-advisor responsibilities of the AdvisorShares WCM/BNY Mellon Focused Growth ADR ETF (NYSE Arca: AADR) on September 1, 2016.
On that date, the fund will be subsequently renamed the AdvisorShares Dorsey Wright ADR ETF, and will retain the AADR ticker symbol.
Toronto's equity markets are the best performing in the world, so far in 2016.
August 30, 2016--As at the end of July the S&P/TSX Composite Index was up 12%, far outstripping S&P 500, the FTSE 100, the NASDAQ Composite and all other major indices.

If the Olympics caused the markets to (almost) shut down for the previous couple of weeks it was threat of the Yellen speech at the Jackson Lake Lodge on Friday that derailed activity now.
Friday started with a downgrade to Q2 GDP by 0.1% to 1.1%. Then Yellen was kinda, sorta, almost hawkish in using the word "strengthening" to describe the economy and prospects for a
hike. Domestic markets moved slightly higher on this, and we
do mean slightly.

August 29, 2016-- ETFGI, the leading independent research and consultancy firm on trends in the global ETF/ETP ecosystem, reported assets invested in ETFs/ETPs listed in Canada have increased 25.3% year to date to reach a new record of US$81 billion at the end of July 2016.
The Canadian ETF industry had 430 ETFs, with 585 listings, assets of US$81 Bn, from 17 providers listed on 2 exchanges, according to ETFGI’s July 2016 global ETF and ETP industry insights report.
