September 14, 2026--Australia started 2026 from a position of resilience, but solid domestic demand and the energy-price shock have pushed inflation above target. Growth is expected to moderate as tighter policies and financial conditions take effect.
Returning inflation to target should be the near-term priority. Monetary policy should remain focused on containing inflation risks.
