Dubai stocks gain the most in a decade

December 18, 2014--A technical buying reaction following the recent stock market crash lifted the DFM General lndex by a whopping 13 per cent to reach at 3,426.70 points on Thursday, December 18.

Between November 23 and December 17, the gauge lost 34.50 per cent in value due to panic selling in the wake of tumbling oil prices.

Saudi shares regain territory

December 17, 2014--The Tadawul All-Share Index closed 4.21 per cent to reach 7,638.0 points on Wednesday, December 17.

Al-Tayyar Travel Group led the rebound, ending 9.98 per cent higher at SAR93. SABIC surged by 4.80 per cent to reach SAR76.

Bargain hunters lift Abu Dhabi bourse

December 17, 2014--Following a five-day losing streak, the ADX General Index closed 4.21 per cent higher at 4,056.08 points on Wednesday, December 17.

Financials benefitted in particular from the rebound. Finance House gained the most, ending up 14.41 per cent at AED3.89.

Bears keep grip on Dubai market

December 17, 2014--A modest rebound at the opening triggered hopes that the crash at the Dubai Financial Market (DFM) might come to an end, but the DFM General lndex eventually opted for u-turn and closed 1.28 per cent lower at 3,044.18 points.

Qatar halts market crash ahead of National Day

a day before Qatar celebrates its 43rd National Day. Stocks advanced across the board.

Bahrain bourse falls for the eighth session straight

December 17, 2014--The Manama-based Bahrain All-Share Index dipped 0.30 per cent to 1,378.23 points on Wednesday, December 17.

Al Salam Bank Bahrain lost the most (off 3.51 per cent), while United Gulf Bank was the lone gainer, edging up by 9.74 per cent.

Saudi shares in free fall on oil, Kingdom Holding bucks sellout

December 16, 2014--The Tadawul All-Shares Index TASI dived 7.27 per cent to 7,330.30 points on Tuesday, December 16, after Brent crude oil fell below $60, a first since 2009.

National Commercial Bank, the first lender in the Kingdom, plummeted 6.10 per cent to end at SAR51.50.

Abu Dhabi developers lose, Union National Bank rebounds

December 16, 2014--The ADX General Index tumbled for the fourth session straight on Tuesday, December 16, closing at 3,892.08 points,

representing a one-year low. The gauge closed beneath the lower Bollinger band for the fourth time in a row amid rising volumes, usually a sign that volatility will get exhausted.
