BlackRock launches floating rate bond ETF
July 13, 2017--BlackRock expanded its fixed income exchange traded fund (ETF) range with the launch of a floating rate bond fund, designed to protect investor portfolios against a rise in interest rates.
The iShares $ Floating Rate bond Ucits ETF (FLOT) provides exposure to US dollar denominated floating rate bonds.

BMO launches trio of enhanced income ETFs
July 13, 2017--BMO Global Asset Management has launched what it claims to be the UKs first enhanced income exchange traded funds (ETFs) based on a covered calls strategy.
The strategies aim to generate income from selling call option contracts in addition to the dividend income received from the underlying stocks in the index.

Morningstar Direct European ETF Asset Flows Update-Q2 2017
July 13, 2017--US equity ETFs on the back foot.
The European exchange-traded fund market saw net inflows of EUR 24 billion in the second quarter, down from EUR 33.4 billion in the previous period.
Assets under management grew to EUR 613.1 billion from EUR 600.5 billion. The increase in assets lagged that of net new money, thus implying net capital losses of EUR 11.3 billion over the quarter.

New UBS Global Asset Management commodity index ETF on energy and metals sector launched on Xetra
July 12, 2017--A new exchange traded fund (ETF) issued by UBS Global Asset Management has been
tradable on Xetra and Börse Frankfurt since Tuesday.
The commodity index ETF
enables investors to participate in the performance of a broadly diversified
basket of commodities. The reference index comprises components from the energy
and metals sector. Components from livestock and agriculture are excluded. The ETF minimises the exchange rate risk between the US dollar and the euro.

ESMA publishes new Q&A on Alternative performance measures guidelines

ETF Securities expands broad commodity ETF suite with double launch
July 11, 2017--ETF Securities has launched two broad commodity ETFs onto the London Stock Exchange-the ETFS All Commodities GO and the ETFS Longer Dated All Commodities Ex-Agriculture And Livestock GO UCITS ETFs.
The two ETFs have been launched in response to increasing investor demand for alternative asset class investments as they seek an all-in-one access point to commodities for growth and diversification.

European ETP Monthly Highlights (Assets & Flows):
Assets:
European ETPs AUM decreased by €1.5bn on MoM basis and
ended the month at €605bn.
Flows:cEuropean-domiciled ETPs registered inflows of +€8.7bn during last
month where year-to-date flows have reached +€57bn.
New Product Launches-6 New products
European market witnessed 6 new products launched in June which were all Equity ETFs. Investment Themes for the Month
Marginal outflows from European equity (standard indices) following negative market returns in June (-€95mn). EM saw significant inflows (+ €1.1bn). Country wise, US (+€635mn), Japan (+€391mn) benefited while Germany saw outflows (-€763mn).
Smart Beta segment recorded inflows of +€1bn. Factor (+€505mn), Thematic (+€198mn), Dividend (+€186mn) and ESG (+€146mn) ETFs were the segments that benefitted. Factor flows were distributed across Low Vol, Value and Multi-Factor strategies.
Sector-wise, Industrials (+€210mn) benefitted while Financials (-€261mn) and Healthcare (-€154mn) saw redemptions.
Currency Hedged (+€560mn) equity ETFs had a strong showing which was largely centered around EUR hedged products.
Robust Fixed Income inflows (+€4.2bn) mainly into EM Bonds and EUR Corporates.
Gold (+€264mn) and Crude Oil (+€282mn) contributed most of the overall commodity flows (+€431mn).
US listed ETFs with exposure to European equities drew +$3.9bn. Turnover: MoM turnover decreased by 10% The total turnover activity into European ETPs increased by 10% (€68.5bn) compared to the previous month’s total (€76.3bn).

Lyxor AM unveils two new short-dated high yield ETFs
July 11, 2017--Lyxor Asset Management has launched 1-3 year short-dated US dollar and euro high yield ETFs to help investors defend against rising interest rates, the company has announced.
The latest launches-known as the Lyxor BofAML $ Short Term High Yield Bond Ucits ETF and Lyxor BofAML € Short Term High Yield Bond Ucits ETF-have a low duration making them less sensitive to interest rate changes than other bonds.
