First ETF in Europe launched by Lyxor tracking the Solactive Equileap Global Gender Equality Index
November 6, 2017--Solactive is excited to announce that the Solactive Equileap Global Gender Equality Index is the reference index for the newly launched Lyxor Gender Equality ETF (ELLE FP Equity), which
will begin trading today on Euronext.
This is the first ETF in Europe that provides investment
access to Equileap's gender lens methodology.
Equileap, an organisation aiming to accelerate progress towards gender equality in the workplace, joined forces with Solactive back in April 2017 to design a family of indices tracking leading companies in the field of gender equality.

Lipper Alpha Insight-Monday Morning Memo: Alternative Strategies and ETFs
November 6, 2017--ETFs have written a success story in Europe over the past 15 years, and the market does not yet seem to be oversaturated.
Instead, the opposite seems to be true: the European ETF industry has witnessed a number of new players in the market, despite there being high competition in general in the European ETF market, and some market observers suppose that a number of ETF promoters are not at all profitable."That said, there is a sweet spot (the "smart beta segment") where the competition is not that high and the pressure on management fees is quite low. Fund promoters can differentiate themselves there by using particular factors or by the way they structure the underlying indices for their ETFs.

Boerse Stuttgart generates turnover in excess of EUR 6 billion in October
November 3, 2017--Equity and investment products trading volumes considerably higher than in September
According to its order book statistics, Boerse Stuttgart generated turnover of more than EUR 6 billion in October 2017.
In equity trading, the order book turnover was more than EUR 1.5 billion, representing an increase of just over 16 percent compared with the previous month. Turnover in German equities amounted to around EUR 1.1 billion. The volume of international equities traded in October came in at EUR 452 million. That was around 20 percent up on September.

Eurex enhances its market structure
November 3, 2017--The international derivatives marketplace Eurex, part of Deutsche Börse Group, enhances its market structure to address industry trends and further meet its member's needs.
In Q4, Europe's largest derivatives exchange will launch an electronic price discovery platform that allows bank's broker desks and inter dealer brokers to contact market makers with request for quotes in order to find a counterpart to a trading interest.

At the end of October 2017 there were 2,440 products domiciled in Europe across 2,973 share classes, with assets of $755.0 Bn from 45 product issuers and 69 index providers
iShares saw the largest net inflows for the month with $3.1 Bn, followed by DBX with $1.7 Bn and Lyxor with $671 Mn, while Boost saw the largest net outflows of $53 Mn
Products tracking MSCI indices saw the largest net inflows for the month gathering $4.1 Bn, followed by products tracking Markit indices with $1.1 Bn, while Barclays based products experienced the largest net outflows of $547 Mn

Bank of England raises UK interest rates for first time since 2007
November 2, 2017--Threadneedle Street increases cost of borrowing from 0.25% to 0.5%, reversing emergency action after Brexit vote
The Bank of England's 0.25% rate rise sent the pound tumbling on foreign exchanges as gloomy forecasts for growth appeared to rule out the prospect of steep increases in the cost of credit before 2020.
