New Invesco-Smart Beta-ETF on Xetra with focus on emerging markets

November 5, 2018--Since Monday, a new Exchange Traded Fund of the issuer Invesco has been tradable on Xetra and the Börse Frankfurt venue.

With the new Smart Beta-ETF, investors can participate in the performance of companies from emerging markets that are selected according to five factors: quality, value potential, low volatility, creditworthiness and size. The reference index contains 850 equities worldwide.

Monday Morning Memo: Are European investors in crisis mode?

November 5, 2018--A brief look at the headline figures of the European fund flows over the course of the first nine months of 2018 may lead to the conclusion that European investors are in crisis mode.

ETFs have enjoyed net inflows for the year so far, while their actively managed peers have faced net outflows. Such a flow pattern has been seen before only during the global financial crisis (2008) and the euro crisis (2011).

New SPDR-ETF on Xetra: S&P 500 Shares Currency Hedged

November 2, 2018--Since Thursday a new Exchange Traded Fund of the issuer State Street Global Advisors is tradable via Xetra and the Börse Frankfurt venue.
The SPDR S&P 500 EUR Hdg UCITS ETF gives investors the opportunity to participate in the performance of the S&P 500 index, which comprises the 500 largest listed companies in the USA.

The ETF uses a hedging strategy to minimise the exchange rate risk between the US dollar and the euro.

Cash markets achieve turnover of 171.6 billion eurox in October

November 1, 2018--Deutsche B,örse cash markets achieved a turnover of €171.6 billion in October (2017: €115.9 billion). This corresponds to a year-on-year increase of 48 percent. Of the €171.6 billion €156.7 billion were attributable to Xetra (October 2017: €102.9 billion).

The average daily turnover on Xetra was thus €7.1 billion. Order book turnover on B,örse Frankfurt totalled €3.7 billion (October 2017: €4.1 billion) and on Tradegate Exchange €11.1 billion (October 2017: €8.9 billion). Split by asset classes, cash market turnover in equities reached about €153.2 billion. Turnover in ETFs/ETCs/ETNs amounted to €16.3 billion. view more.

MiFID II: ESMA makes new bond liquidity data available

October 31, 2018--The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) has today made available new data for bonds subject to the pre- and post-trade requirements of the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID II) and Regulation (MiFIR) through its data register.

ESMA will start today to make available the third quarterly liquidity assessment for bonds available for trading on EU trading venues at the end of October. For this period, there are currently 470 liquid bonds subject to MiFID II transparency requirements.

MiFID II: ESMA publishes data for the systematic internaliser calculations for equity, equity-like instruments and bonds

October 31, 2018--The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) has published today data for the systematic internaliser calculations for equity, equity-like instruments and bonds under the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID II) and Regulation (MiFIR).

More specifically, ESMA has published the total number of trades and total volume over the period April-September 2018 for the purpose of the systematic internaliser (SI) calculations for 17,999 equity and equity-like instruments and for 387,212 bonds.

Eurozone growth rate slumps to four-year low as Italy stagnates-as it happened

October 30, 2018--Time for a recap
Growth in the eurozone has slowed to its lowest level in over four years, as the region's recovery runs out of steam. Eurozone GDP only rose by 0.2% in July-September, down from 0.4% in April-June.

Economists say the figures are disappointing, and weaker than expected; they could even precede a wider recession.
Italy's growth rate fell to zero, in a blow its new government's plans to revitalise the economy.

France did better, though; its economy grew by 0.4%, thanks to a pick-up in consumer spending and business investment.
