Bond star Hasenstab to manage new emerging local currency bond fund
February 20, 2018--Franklin Templeton Investments has launched an emerging markets local currency bond fund under the management of high-profile investor Michael Hasenstab, the asset management firm said on Tuesday.
Hasenstab, whose flagship Templeton Global Bond Fund is celebrated for hugely successful contrarian punts on Ireland and Hungary, and Sonal Desai will be joint portfolio managers of the "Templeton Emerging Markets Local Currency Bond Fund", the group said in a statement.

February 19, 2018--The economy has changed and investors can no longer rely on a diversified stock-bond portfolio to provide protection in times of market volatility, according to JPMorgan Asset Management.
Rising inflation expectations and the knock-on effect of higher yields are acting to prevent bonds from rallying in risk-off environments, global strategist Thushka Maharaj wrote in a recent note to clients.

Horizons Launches New Marijuana ETF on NEO
February 15, 2018--The NEO Exchange ("NEO") is pleased to announce that Horizons ETFs Management (Canada) Inc. ("Horizons ETFs") launched the Horizons Emerging Marijuana Growers Index ETF on NEO today.
With the launch of this new ETF, represented by the ticker HMJR Horizons ETFs becomes the ninth ETF provider to list products on NEO.
HMJR seeks to replicate the Emerging Marijuana Growers Index, net of expenses. The index provides direct exposure to small-capitalization companies that are primarily involved in the cultivation, production and/or distribution of marijuana.

ETFGI Reports Assets Invested In ETFs Listed In Canada Reach Record High Of US$122 Billion At The End Of January 2018
February 16, 2018--According to ETFGI's January 2018 Canada ETF and ETP industry insights report, a monthly report included in an annual paid-for research subscription service, assets invested in ETFs listed in Canada reached a record high of US$122 billion at the end of January 2018, shattering the previous record of US$117 Bn set at the end of 2017.

Highlights
Assets invested in ETFs listed in Canada increased by $4.94 billion during January to reach a new record high of $122 billion
In January 2018, ETFs listed in Canada saw net inflows of $1.68 billion
Equity ETFs gathered the largest net inflows with US$852 Mn, followed by active ETFs with US$636 Mn.
During January 2018 assets invested in ETFs listed in Canada increased by $4.94 Bn, or 4.23%, representing the greatest absolute monthly increase for almost two years.

WisdomTree Announces Changes to ETF Family
February 16, 2018--WisdomTree (NASDAQ:WETF), an exchange-traded fund ("ETF") and exchange-traded product ("ETP") sponsor and asset manager, today announced plans to close and liquidate nine of its ETFs.
The Funds will no longer accept creation orders after Friday, March 16, 2018. The final day of trading on the Funds' respective exchanges will also be Friday, March 16, 2018.

Vanguard Launches U.S. Factor Funds
February 15, 2018--New suite of funds marks firm's first actively managed ETFs in the U.S.
Vanguard today launched six new factor-based ETFs-the firm's first actively managed ETFs in the U.S.-and one factor-based mutual fund.
Vanguard's five single factor funds seek to achieve specific risk or return objectives through targeted factor exposures-minimum volatility, value, momentum, liquidity, and quality-and will have an estimated expense ratio of 0.13%. The sixth ETF and mutual fund follows a multi-factor approach and has an estimated expense ratio of 0.18%.
