April 12, 2019--A third of countries in sub-Saharan Africa are currently involved in conflict or experiencing post-conflict tension, forcing an estimated 18 million people away from their homes and livelihoods.

The IMF's latest Regional Economic Outlook for sub-Saharan Africa provides an in-depth analysis of conflict trends and the socio-economic challenges faced by countries in the region. Economists, Siddharth Kothari and Mahvash Saeed Qureshi spearheaded the study.

Nigeria: NSE Moves 232.77 Million Shares in Positive Trading

April 12, 2019--The Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) on Friday moved 232.77 million shares valued N1.97 billion exchanged in 2,677 deals.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that this was in contrast with a turnover of 224.03 million worth N2.10 billion on Thursday.

An analysis of the activity chart indicates that Sovereign Trust Insurance was the most active, exchanging 47.05 million shares worth N11.29 million.
