Nigeria: What to Expect From Contributory Pension Scheme in 2017

February 3, 2017--The Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) had witnessed sustained rising growth in 11 years until 2016 when the growth was a bit stunted due largely to Nigeria's economy sliding into a recession, a recession; it is yet to recover from.

Because of the recession, Nigeria's economic growth slowed, some businesses closed shop, some reduced salaries and some sack huge number of workers.

The power of pension funds for African infrastructure

January 25, 2017--Opening the elegant new six-lane toll bridge stretching cross Dar es Salaam's Kigamboni Creek in April, Tanzania's President John Magufuli called it "liberation" for citizens.

It represents a $135m investment by Tanzania’s National Social Security Fund, the state-run pension fund, and government. China Railway Construction Engineering Group built the 680-metre bridge with China Railway Major Bridge Group and say it is the longest cable-stayed bridge in East Africa
