November 3, 2015--According to the Renewable Energy Policy Network, about 22.1% of the world's energy needs are satisfied by renewable energy. Hydro power accounts for most of this (16.4%) and the remainder (5.7%) comes from solar, wind, biomass, and other renewable sources.

While many governments are undertaking initiatives to keep the percentage share of renewable energy sources increasing, there are also some large global brands that are helping lead the charge to a greener economy.

BIS-Information on global systemically important banks published by the Basel Committee

November 3, 2015--In conjunction with today's publication by the Financial Stability Board of the updated list of global systemically important banks (G-SIBs),

the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision has released further information.

This information includes:
a list of all the banks in the assessment sample;

the denominators used to calculate the scores for banks in the exercise;

the cutoff score that was used to identify the updated list of G-SIBs;

Deutsche Börse licenses three new BSE India market data products
November 2, 2015--Deutsche Börse Market Data + Services is further strengthening its partnership with BSE India (formerly known as Bombay Stock Exchange) by licensing three new BSE market data products.

The new "ultra" products deliver the full chain of pre-trade information and complete post-trade data.

Fashion no judge of form for junk bond ETFs

November 2, 2015--Buoyed by rapid growth, junk bond exchange traded funds are one of the hottest tickets in town, however for some investors their actual performance has been less than compelling.

Fixed income ETFs are the fastest-growing asset class in the swelling industry and have increased assets under management by 17 per cent this year to $365bn.

Eurex: Trading statistics October 2015-Eurex Exchange: ADV 5.3 million contracts/ISE: ADV 2.5 million contracts

November 2, 2015--In October 2015, the international derivatives markets of Eurex, part of Deutsche Börse Group, recorded an average daily volume of 7.8 million contracts (October 2014: 9.9 million). Of those, 5.3 million were Eurex Exchange contracts (October 2014: 6.6 million), and 2.5 million contracts (October 2014: 3.3 million) were traded at the New York based International Securities Exchange (ISE).

The volume traded on the spot and derivatives power markets of the European Energy Exchange (EEX) amounted to 270.1 terawatt hours (October 2014: 154.4 TWh). Eurex Repo recorded in all markets in October 2015 an average outstanding volume of 144.6 billion euros.

Economic Outlook for Europe and Central Asia Presented in Dushanbe

October 29, 2015--In the midst of an uncertain global economic environment, GDP growth for the Europe and Central Asia (ECA) region is expected to increase to 1.4 percent for 2015, with 1.8 percent growth projected for 2016.

But prospects for countries vary widely: the western part of the region will likely continue its fragile recovery in 2016, while the eastern part of the region will increasingly suffer large income losses.

Shanghai Stock Exchange, Deutsche Boerse and China Financial Futures Exchange jointly establish CEINEX

Signing of the Shareholder Agreement during Chinese-German government consultation in Beijing
October 29, 2015--Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE), Deutsche Börse Group and China Financial Futures Exchange (CFFEX) today officially founded their joint venture "China Europe International Exchange".

This new marketplace for the trading of RMB-denominated offshore products will be launched on 18 November 2015 under the new brand CEINEX.

China Foreign Exchange Trade System and Deutsche Boerse sign cooperation agreement

October 29, 2015--China Foreign Exchange Trade System (CFETS) and Deutsche Börse today entered into a strategic cooperation agreement to connect the respective markets and foster product innovation.

The cooperation agreement was signed by Sun Jie, Executive Vice President of CFETS, and Carsten Kengeter, CEO of Deutsche Böörse AG, in the presence of the Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang and the German Chancellor Angela Merkel. The signing ceremony took place in Beijing during the Chinese-German government consultation.
