Broker-dealer TradeZero launches first 'dark pool' exchange for bitcoin
August 11, 2016--TradeZero, a Bahamas-based online broker-dealer, said on Thursday,it had launched the world's first "dark pool" exchange for bitcoin to enable institutional investors to execute large trades.
The company will eventually open the exchange to other digital currencies such as ether and litecoin.

New money raised by equity ETFs drops 85%
August 11, 2016--The amount of new money raised by exchange traded funds exposed to global stock markets has dropped 85 per cent in the first half of 2016, in a rare sign of pressure on the passive investment industry.

World Gold Council-Gold Demand Trends Q2 2016
August 11, 2016--Continued growth in Q2 2016 (+15%) brought total H1 gold demand to 2,335t-the second highest first half on record.
Huge ETF inflows during the first six months (+579t) were counterbalanced by anaemic jewellery demand in an environment of sharply rising prices. In fact, the gold price posted the strongest H1 performance (+25%) for more than 35 years.

ETF Securities Weekly Flows Analysis-Long oil ETP inflows at a 17 month year high
August 8, 2016--Investors injected US$113mn into long oil ETPs suggesting they expect current price weakness to be
temporary.
Sterling on the other hand is likely to remain weak for longer as the Bank of England cut the Bank Rate to a new record low and expanded its stimulus package by another £170bn.
While investors continue to pile into gold ETPs, robotics and cybersecurity ETPs are gaining traction.

Has Bitcoin Replaced Gold As The New Safe Haven?
August 6, 2016--A couple of years ago, I was lucky enough to be given the opportunity to coach a high school debate team.
One of the first things that those smart kids learned when it came to attacking an opponent's case was to, where appropriate, point out that correlation does not necessarily equal causation. Just because two things happen at the same time doesn't mean they are related. Sometimes, though, even if evidence is scant, the logical case for causation can be strong enough to be noteworthy.
